This rugged, waterproof shoe is designed for the adventurous outdoor enthusiast with durable GORE-TEX® fabric. The 978 also has the ROLLBAR® support system for superb rearfoot stability and motion control, making this a great choice for overpronators.
"I have had 3 pairs of the 978 boots. I walk daily on a combination of trails and roads often in wet weather. I love the fit and comfort of the boot. They really helped to relieve the chronic plantar fasciitis I suffered for several years but the soles wear out in about 6 months. I have a couple of pairs sitting around with tops in very good shape but with worn out soles. My most recent pair is less than 6 months old and the seam ripped out where the toe bumpers meet the body on the uppers. These are great boots. I keep buying them for the fit but I wish the boots lasted longer."

"I have worn these shoes for years now but find for me that they wear out the corners of their heels within 6 months. I have Pronation. I get a refund on them after returning them to NB and then get or buy a replacement pair. NB have now discontinued the Men's version but I know that a men's 10 1/2 is the same length as a woman's 13. So I now order a WW978GT 2E size 13. Unfortunately the seam stitches on the right shoe of my latest WW978's has come apart by my little toe. This is the first pair of 978's that I have ever had a problem with the uppers. Bottom line is I wish NB would develop a harder wearing material for the heels."
